This was one of my first attempts at shooting a vertical panorama out of a helicopter! I had a harness on and I was hanging right out over the chopper’s skids to avoid the rotors above. Thankfully I had a great pilot who knew how to fly very steadily! I was so excited when I finally saw this shot on the light-box after it was developed. Hill Inlet shone like a jewel in the background, with its swirls of pure silica sand and magnificent turquoise waters. In the deep blue of the foreground, the tiny yacht in full sail gave a sense of story to the entire scene: This boat was sailing away into the great beyond, from one idyllic paradise to another!
